1967 Chevrolet Camaro
Full Body Restoration
This car came to us requiring minor rectification work on what was a black car. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that there was significant rust and so a bare metal repaint to a new custom blue colour was undertaken. Work included panel re-gapping, lead-wiping, rust repairs, and the remanufacturing of sections of panels including some of the rear end, guards and sills. All this was completed under the direction of the owner who is ecstatic with the result and it has been a prize winner.
Background Information from the Owner
The Chevrolet Camaro was General Motors’s (GM) response to the Ford Mustang. GM decided on pitching the Camaro as an affordable sports car that came in a base option with a six-cylinder engine and no radio or could be optioned up to have a powerful V8 and convertible top. Clearly, they got it right because over 4.5 million of them rolled off the assembly lines after their launch on 29 September, 1966. The owner acquired this car in 2014 from Arizona in good, all original condition. He had to change the seats which were covered in genuine, hard, dried alligator tail skins. It had 67800 miles on the clock. It is a first-generation 1967 with a big-block 454 motor, modified custom disc brakes, and Coys 20 inch wheels.
